Charles W. “Bill” Fray, 76, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away Monday, March 12, 2018 at UPMC Presbyterian. He was born August 19, 1941 in Steubenville a son of the late Charles J. & Ida Grace Fix Fray. Bill was a retired craneman for Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and also installed fencing for Gil Thermes and Tom McNeil. He served in the Army and was a member of Mingo Sportsmans Club and an avid hunter and fisherman. Preceding Bill in death was his wife Arlene L. Still Fray.
Bill always said that he was surrounded by beauty and loved “his girls” and is survived by his daughters Leslie (D’Wayne) Johnson, Heidi (Eddie) Harris and Kristin (Pete) Cozza; six grandchildren Taylor & Hunter Johnson, Keirsten (Logan Morris) & Bailey Harris, Jordan Kerr and Giovanna Cozza; one great granddaughter Raeni Kerr; two brothers Stanley (Sharon) Fray & Leonard (Uta) Fray; companion Betty Jo Chuma; and special nephew Jim (Vickie) Still.
Bill was known for his contagious smile and inappropriate sense of humor. He will be missed by many but is loved by all.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Jason Elliott officiating. Burial at Cross Creek Cemetery.
