Dorothy M. Simmons, 97, of Bloomingdale Ohio passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, August 7, 2021 with her loving daughter by her side.
She was born on January 27, 1924 in Adena, Ohio, a daughter of the late John & Margaret Whitten Beveridge. She was a member of the former Bloomingdale U.M. Church and most recently attended Smithfield U.M. Church. Dorothy worked at Carl Mansfield Studio and served as a mentor at Wayne Elementary School for many years. Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband Raymond L. Simmons; son Jerry Simmons; sisters Margie Fleming & Mary Alice Heaston; and brothers Jack, Thomas & James Beveridge.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter Judy (Dave) Galbraith; grandsons Michael Simmons, Mark (Tonya) Simmons, Ryan Simmons & Scott (Jamie) Sagrilla; five great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; twelve step great grandchildren; one step great great grandson; and sisters Patricia Barbai, Barbara Beveridge & Sandra (Bob) Mayercheck. The family also wants to acknowledge the excellent care that her caregiver, Peggy Bailey, provided over the last year and a half.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Tuesday 3-7 p.m.; where services will be held on Wednesday at 2:15 p.m. (Visitation one half hour prior) with Rev. William Hibbs officiating. Burial at Bloomingdale Cemetery.
