Edmund D. "Ed" Bishop Obituary

Edmund D Bishop (January 29, 1950 - December 7, 2023) passed away peacefully at home after long battles with several health issues.  Ed loved golf, playing games, animals, game shows, trivia, sports and fishing; however, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and friends.

Ed was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, having served as a Boiler Technician for 4 years. He retired from Allstate and Citi Financial, was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Steubenville and a former Mason.

Ed was preceded in death by his father Howard, mother Alda (Miller) and favorite Aunt Ruth (Smith).  He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda Mahling Bishop, and his daughter Laura (Doug) Cieslinski, sister Lila Ruth Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health Care, Hospice, and Palliative Care for their kindness, care, and support over the past 21 months.

Visitation will be at Dunlope Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Sunday December 10 from 2-5pm. The funeral will take place on Monday December 11 at 10a.m. with Pastor Mark Statler officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
