With heavy hearts, we announce that Joan Kremser (nee Downs), age 79, was welcomed into heaven on November 2, 2022.
Joan was predeceased by her parents, William and Dolores Downs, and her children, Gretchen and Michael. She was loved and cherished by her devoted husband of 56 years, Edward, their sons Mark (Laura) and Matthew (Aimee), their grandchildren Kyra, Mireya, Luke, Carlyla, Connor, and Zachary, and her loving siblings Robert Downs (Patrice), Judy Giblin (Pete), Jeanne D’Anniballe (Tom), and Jackie Gade (Ron). She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Joan was strong and fiercely independent, never afraid to speak her mind, and had a keen knack for telling it like it is. She loved verbal sparring with her husband, bragging about her children’s accomplishments, and doting incessantly on her grandchildren. Joan loved sharing laughs and cocktails with her siblings-in-law, Bob and Lorrie Kremser. She also treasured spending time with her siblings and their annual trips to Hilton Head Island.
Joan’s tenacity, wit, and grace will be missed by all.
Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 4170 N. Amber Dr. Brooklyn on Tuesday November 8, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Internment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
