Margaret I. Gosney Obituary

 

Margaret Earnest Gosney, 94, of Wintersville, OH went to be with the Lord on August 8, 2019.  Margaret was born March 30, 1925 at her home in Woodruff (Cameron), West Virginia.  She is the daughter of the late Arthur and Edith McNeely Earnest. Margaret was also preceded in death by her husband David H. Gosney, one brother, Arnold E. Earnest of Moundsville, WV, and several brother and sisters-in-laws.  Surviving are her four children: David Douglas (Patti) Gosney, Denny (Cindy) Gosney, Debra (Rodney) Louk, and Darren (Kim) Gosney; seven sisters: Evelyn Bissett of Weirton, WV; Jean (Bob) Blake of Alliance, O; Doris Moore of Waynesburg, PA; Sarah Moore of Cincinnati, OH; Carolyn Drizake of Weirton, WV; Freda (John) West of Weirton,  WV; Linda (Bill) Kinsey of Moundsville, WV;  one brother, David C (Joy) Earnest of New Cumberland, WV; Sister-in-Law Evelyn Earnest of Moundsville, WV; and 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Margaret was a devout Christian and Mother.  She adored her family and grandchildren.  She had been a member of the World-Wide Church of God and recently attended church at Starkdale Presbyterian Church.  Also, she was a member of the Wintersville Women’s Club, General Federation of Women’s Club, Civic Service Club, and the Wintersville Friendship Club.  She loved to travel and played bridge for many years.  She was a graduate of Weirton High School, worked at Weirton Steel during World War II and Fostoria in Moundsville, WV. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday, August 15, 2019 from 4-7 p.m., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Carl Moore officiating.  Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Starkdale Presbyterian Church
